Rev. Deborah Fetterman Moyer
Minister of the Arts

Rev. Deborah Fetterman Moyer  is a minister of the Arts. She teaches piano lessons, paints and  is developing Art Break consulting to help individuals and institutions to intentionally integrate the expressive arts in ways that are both meaningful and healing. She believes that mindful use of the arts makes the world a better place.

She is a graduate of The College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA and Lancaster Theological Seminary in PA.  She is an ordained United Church of Christ pastor. She also earned a certificate in Gestalt Pastoral Care, a program of spiritual direction and counseling, and is a graduate of the Women’s Leadership Institute at Hartford Seminary.  In the past she has worked as a United Church of Christ Pastor and an award-winning  journalist in both television and print media.

Throughout her life, Deb has studied classical piano and voice, journalism, theatrical direction and acting, oil painting, floral design and modern dance and she incorporates this artistic knowledge in her work.  She has exhibited her oil paintings in art shows sponsored by the West Hartford Art Leage, Autumn Light Gallery ,  the Hartford Gallery.

During the past two years she has presented Art Break seminars and Contemplative Creativity workshops at the Beyond Consequences Institute : Trauma Informed Schools Conference in St. Louis, MO;  Hartford Trinity Magnet College Academy Trin Prep; St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Manchester, CT, and the Spiritual Life Center in West Hartford.  In November, 2017, she was invited as an exhibitor and dialogue participant to the Women in Ministry Conference at Princeton Seminary.

She lives in West Hartford with her children Nathan (13), Jayden (10) and husband, Dr. Kurt Moyer, owner of Pine Lake Laboratories in Bristol, CT.
